Phire Free is the founder of Free Your Phire where she is a Support Coach and Consultant. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women’s studies from Central Michigan University (CMU). As a poet, she coordinated shows and events, while also featuring for different parts of the community including, Western Michigan University's Suicide Prevention Awareness Program and Catholic Charities of Kalamazoo Youth Advisory Board. During that period of time, she earned her Masters of Arts degree from Western Michigan University (WMU) while acting as Secretary for Kalamazoo's Urban Empowerment, a Multicultural Literacy program.
In connecting with her community she raised awareness about political issues affecting citizens of Kalamazoo and the homeless by working with other local organizers to start Kalamazoo 4 Justice, and Greater Charlotte RISE. In 2018 after leaving the NC Department of Public Safety, she hosted the Women’s March on Charlotte in North Carolina and has continued to build in her community.
