COVID19 and the Intersection with Food Insecurity and Weight Bias

Dr. Dominique Williams works with The Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and also serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.  In addition to acting as preceptor to medical students and residents on elective in The Center, she also serves as a mentor to female residents, pre-medical, and medical students. Dr. Williams was recently appointed to the Council on Concerns of Women Physicians by the President of the National Medical Association (NMA); and locally serves on the Executive Board of the Columbus Chapter of the NMA.  She has particular interest in the impact of social determinants of health on weight management; and the intersectionality of weight bias and food insecurity.  A native of Akron, Ohio Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University; Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University School of Medicine; and a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Obesity Medicine and is an active member of the Obesity Medicine Association serving on both the CME Overview and Pediatric Committees.  She and her husband are loving parents to a son and daughter; and doting new grandparents to a beautiful baby girl.
